This is the only perk of being a felon. I couldn't pay to be on a jury.

Where is he going to find them in mass numbers? The Pike House? I’ve never heard of any of a student going to jury duty. I assure you no one at Ole Miss is sympathetic towards him. No one is thinking to themselves “Bummer, if only she got an abortion he wouldn’t have had to kill her.”

First, if you look back you are basically restating my premise. I described the unicorn jury he needs to have a chance at sympathy going in. You might get one or two but you won't get enough to sway a jury and in general they don't have the force of will to hang a jury. BTW they don't have to be students but you do get some students in pools but they are the commuters (likely don't fit the ideal) or students that have changed their DL and voter registration as part of establishing residency in the state.

I know a wee bit about jury psychology and there ARE sympathetic potential jurors in and around Oxford whether you believe it or not. While I assume not in Oxford you can see the desire in some posters here to have a reason to break the other way. You will get those everywhere you just have to identify them and get them on the jury. Again whether you believe it or not an abortion in the demographic I described is a potential important tidbit you would look for while scrapping their SM. Just think about the parameters I described and then try to describe a demographic that will be more sympathetic. All mothers and all women are out, he ain't pretty enough to Ted Bundy them especially when he won't speak. Non-whites are out. Almost all married men especially fathers are out.

Bottom line unless something huge changes he won't have a chance at a sympathetic jury he will be lucky if he has one lotto lucky if he has two that are predisposed to sympathy toward him. I am not sure a change of venue would have any effect on that at all. Just based on the preliminary "evidence" this won't every be in front of a jury.

Unfortunately there is some truth to what you say. Some of the more disgusting posters here are hinting she may have somewhat had this coming due to getting drunk that night. If this happens in Oxford where this piece of shite gets off thanks to people like two specific posters here, I will be nauseated and hope someone from Mossad goes after this piece of filth.

Granted he’d have the leave the Southeast forever if he got off, and I don’t think he could really escape to the West, the Midwest, or most of the Northeast. There would be people who would know of him and inform people where he moved. He has to live in a fricking cabin Walter White style. Southerners move, and they will become privy to his footsteps. Maybe New England or the Montana wilderness, but he will be outed in Colorado or California.

How do you know this ? I mean people are getting way to involved about a subject that nothing is concrete about yet . If you want question her sobriety your an a-hole . If you don’t think he is a wanna be super rich prick your an a-hole . Quit reading the garbage media and wait for the facts to come out . I think he probably did it but the circumstances or particulars I have no clue .

His family is doing what anyone else would do if it was a member of thiers being accused. Her family has been magnificent in dealing with this. They haven’t trashed anyone and they have suffered the most . Hopefully justice prevails

Because the world is smaller than you think. If you travel a lot, you learn this. If a double murderer is living in downtown LA, word will reach of this eventually. I know a person that is high profile there that is connected to this case. Trust me, unless you do witness protection, this idiot will be found. No way he and his piece of shite father won’t be ostracized after this from general society.

I just don’t understand why she wanted anything to do with him in the first place.

She was absolutely beautiful and he looked like a douche, talked like a douche, and apparently acted like a douche.

I was more discussing his privilege . You heard 3-5 comments made by her friends and ran with it . Don’t get to excited about it . If he is guilty he will pay even if he gets off somehow ( I don’t think he will ) . privilege isnt getting you off murder, not in this case .

You see it all the time -- particularly in young relationships. People want what they can't have. Every non-cuck guy knows this.

Because people want what they can’t and shouldn’t have. Both men and women try to reform someone they love even when their friends insist on the contrary. It’s a human emotion unfortunately.

Wouldn’t go as far as beautiful, in fact all of the talk about how hot OM chicks are in this thread, I haven’t seen evidence of it yet. She certainly didn’t deserve this, but young, horny college kids are kind of like wild animals, sexually, when they get away from home.

Agreed, there is murder level privilege but I haven't seen anything to suggest that. Slightly tarnished Dr daddy in today's world is property crimes (but not Emmet Till sign) or simple assault against a dude level privilege. Murder privilege requires near-universal sympathy and/or a bank account that $1 million is a rounding error.

Might work in a low profile case, but this apparent negative PR push looks mighty sleazy in the bright light of the day.

Always the riskiest move.

What the defense is looking for is a third party bad actor. Like the crazy pillbilly that had it out for his dad because he cut him off and had credible threats to the family and now is gone off the face of the earth. If you can put some psycho lowlife in the jury's crosshairs it will let them sleep much better at night knowing their Old Miss boys are good boys. shite got real girl got shot, he got away and instead of running to the cops he was running for his life. Sounds like complete bullshite on its face but while they hat frat boy they hate pillbilly more.

I will BS about a lot of things. In this thread, being an a-hole is unacceptable. If I tell you the moon is made out of extra sharp cheddar cheese, you can head up there with some crackers in your hand. I see it every day.

I am a college professor. I notice some bright young women being attracted to his type (douches, not murderers) to the point that its somewhat surprising when they aren't.

Two anecdotes:

1. I advised a girl that had Ivy League grad school admission who ended up at Southeastern Louisiana chasing a boy like this.

2. A friend of mine's daughter threw away a really nice educational opportunity to chase a boy like this. She had Tier 1 law school admission and she's now a receptionist at a hair salon in Nashville because she chased a boy.

Beyonce shut down the trail to Havasu Falls in the Grand Canyon for five hours last week to film a music video. Hikers have to apply for permits a year in advance.

Seems like you're personally invested in this. Did he and his dad do something to you?
