As an Ole Miss alum, you don't really need to be a rocket scientist to graduate

What's kind of interesting (from a legal perspective) is if she was not pregnant (in fact) but he thought that she was. I haven't touched criminal law since the bar exam, but can the DA charge you with attempted murder (to the extent that he believed he was killing someone who was pregnant (and thus killing two people)). Or does impossibility kick in?

That's all the motive needed to get him a life sentence.

Does it matter if he's charged with one or two murders at that point?

Why would the DA even pursue a challenging attempted murder charge in this case when there is an easier murder charge available?

With the proliferation of social media and the inability to stay off of it you will see more murders like this.

Much bigger situation to tackle. My point is that we now need to talk to our daughters abut "sugar babying".

throw it against the wall and see what sticks?

ETA: plus, more leverage if defense seeks a plea deal

I imagine it's like when older generations talked to their daughters about prostituting

If?

Oh...they gonna suck the DA's dick and cup the balls if they have to for a deal.

The DA doesn't need leverage on this one

Snapped, and then had such a lack of remorse, that he got on twitter ~12 hours after murdering his pregnant (ex?)girlfriend to talk about "groovy" summer songs... Dude has issues.

No. This sounds like an easy murder case in the least. Capital if done to effect the death of an unborn child or in the course of a kidnapping or other aggravating circumstance.

frick. All because he couldnt handle a child.
I get that having a kid that young is scary, but she’s a pretty girl from a presumably good family. It’s not like it was some white trash druggie tinder slut (not that that would justify this).
