How else are they going to pay the salary of the obese woman sipping a Polar Pop who will tell you that it's your turn in line?

That $400 drivers ed class is the least of your expenses for having a teenage driver. Talked to your insurance agent yet?

Wait till summer. Register an address in Texas. Kid gets license in Texas with parental teaching affidavit. Then register in Louisiana or get smart and stay in Texas.

Oh, to live in Texas where revenue is generated via prosperity rather than trying to bleed the citizens dry.

I got to take it in 10th grade in lieu of a gym class.

Leave it to the state to figure out another racket.

yeah this sounds crazy to me. In the great state of MS you get your permit for like 6mo then take your driver's exam with the obese lady. The cost of both of these is so nominal I don't remember what they were.

I'm in my 30's so its possible that its changed since I got my DL, but in LA you had to complete a 36 hour drivers ed course if you were under 17. Could get a learner's permit at 15 and DL at 16. If you waited until 17 to get DL, there was only a 6 hour classroom course required before you could go to DMV to get a DL

Probably not since I took it circa 1975 in the Ford LTD and was taught by all the coaches. First stop for us was the Pac a Sack on Lobdell and Jefferson so coach could get an 8 pack of Miller Pony's and slam that passenger seat brake pedal just to frick with us.

And that was when we were 14 because we drove at 15.
