He's either losing his vision or he had a nasty run in with a bird of prey.

I agree with the suggestions that the problem may be vision related.
We had that happen with a cat in New Orleans, and we had just taken her to the vet for a lump on her left side. He didn't recognize the problem, sent a sample to LSU for a biopsy, we brought her home and the next day she was walking the walls.
Two days later another lump appeared and she lost her sense of smell and stopped eating.
The vet had a rush put on the biopsy, they found it was a cancer that hadn't been seen in New Orleans, and she died soon after.
If you have a second cat, you may want to keep them separated. Good luck and I hope the cat enjoys a long and healthy life.

get her eyes and ears checked at the vet.

probably going blind. Using whiskers to navigate around things.
