Born in 85. Technically a millenial, but grew up on a farm in LA. I can't relate to the typical millenial, but I also don't really give a shite about generations either.

Every generation has lazy people. Every generation has motivated people. It's pretty simple, you just hear less about the lazy frickers in the past because they only were labeled that by the 25 people in their circle and didn't have the internet to overemphasize their situation. Millennials catch a bad wrap because the same thing that allows them to succeed, technology, is the same thing that exposes them. I think it's a good thing regardless.

But the younger ones are even worse.

Also born in '87, and was raised in a small town in MS. Would say I was one of the first in my age group to take advantage of computers and fast internet in high school(made bank for a year or two burning cd's for everybody) and even the first to get Facebook after Katrina, before enrolling at LSU in '06, but that's about as far as the similarities with Millenials go. Was raised by my 1930-born grandparents(with grandpa being a Korean vet) so I was instilled respectable values, thank God. Guess I could say I picked up a lot of older generation values but some of the millenials, too.

Needless to say, I got rid of my Facebook a while back- unsure of if it was a break or what, but I haven't looked back since. It feels good honestly. It has made so many in society outspoken and narcissistic, and I feel like it will become a negative more than a positive, eventually. I just hope that many will start to feel the same as myself and some of my friends and we see the start of a mass exodus. Social media is here to stay, but I just hope there is some kind of societal transcendence where people use it more effectively.

Older millenials prefer to be lumped in with younger Xers than the middle/younger cohorts of millenials.
