My parents taught me the same thing. But when I was a teenager, I didn't always follow everything my parents taught me. I was taught to respect my elders and to treat women a certain way, but when HS seniors, college aged kids.. Get together, have a good time, drink, etc. there is a good chance there will be some type of situation in which someone will do something dumb.

I can understand how I can come off mentally retarded to someone who isn't able to comprehend beyond a certain level of thinking. Just because you don't understand doesn't mean I am the one mentally retarded.

Didn't really want to watch that but I did and probably ruined my night. Not surprised. These videos are far too common. The lack of empathy and respect of human life is the most troubling part of the whole culture. They almost killed her little dog by almost landing on it. I wonder if she found them.

yep. one or two black folk commit a violent crime, the rest laugh and film. "they ain't me or mines".
i guess the thing that gets me is that there is no solution in sight. the 80% single rate statistic will never be mentioned in mainstream discussion so we're left to find and discuss impossible solutions re. "fixing" schools where kids go in not knowing right from wrong or reforming a criminal justice system with a culture that views crime as everyday life.

It's too far gone. Things take generations to change and the US doesn't have that many generations left. This city is dead.

You missing my part. There are idiots protesting and thinking it was all race motivated... I am just saying that is the same mindset as people who look at this as a race issue. What they did was horrible and I am not making excuses for it, but I am just saying that the board it looking at it as if only black people would do something like that. All I am trying to bring up is..
- Is this a race related situation? Yes, it was black kids who did it to a white women, but was the incentive strictly because she was white? I doubt it.
- Is this something that only black people do? It doesn't make it more right or wrong based on the race of the people who did it. The difference between this and other things people do, is that this was caught on video.. And just because it isn't on video doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

I said it earlier in the thread but when I was in HS or early on in college I didn't fathom why people left cities for the boring burbs or countryside. I 100% get it now. I could only imagine how nice it would be to live in a place like Boise where you can get both.

Yes. Especially when you're still in pretty easy driving distance of the city.

Don't we love our black people folks?

I bet she'll get castigated for saying she tries to avoid groups of blacks from now on.
