The rich of rich in Shreveport probably have more money than BR because oil and gas is stacked in that area. Not so in BR.

Fairfield north of Kings Hwy you can tell was an upper class area in the early 1900s. Lot of beautiful, large, old school Louisiana looking homes. It's just now not the spot. South Highlands and South Ellerbe are where the upper middle class in the small metro live now. The middle class, more country/redneck-ish whites in Shreveport live in Bossier, Benton, and Southwest Shreveport.

Like take your average 45 year old in Benton, Southwest Shreveport near Dixie baseball fields, Bossier. Then take your average 45 year old in South Highlands. They talk and sound completely different. The 1st group sounds reneck/country, deep conservative. The 2nd group is still conservative, but doesn't really have a strong country accent.

It's like the same difference between U-High and Catholic High families vs your average Livingston Parish family. Your average CE Byrd family vs your average Benton High family.

Sorry for your loss. That is terribly young.

If you saw her in Target, you wouldn't give her a second look.

Nice looking house but mansion seems a stretch.

This is so true. People that live in Shreveport proper, as I called it, sound different than other parts of Shreveport and now Bossier. Case in point, I am an example of it.

How is the area around Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church? It’s a neat church.

I went to mass there a couple of weekends ago when I was back home visiting relatives.

Old money Shreveport used to be right up there with Uptown New Orleans for being stuck on themselves. Not many of them around any more. The kids all moved to Dallas and the old folks are dying off.

Fun fact: The Querbes family made its fortune selling whiskey to the Indians.

Yep, been to that house before in the 90s. Married a Shreveport girl. Very nice neighborhood. Southland highlands or something like that right?

Woof, she's obviously not skating anymore.
She'd break through the ice!

She may want to rethink moving to Vegas. From some recent stories I read, Vegas seems to be sliding as well.

They still are and some are still there. People in south Louisiana don't realize how much money there is in and around Shreveport.
