He reportedly visited a medium-size hospital in Daegu on March 13 complaining of fever. An X-ray revealed he was developing pneumonia and he was sent to a bigger hospital, Yeungnam University Medical Center. On the day, he tested negative for coronavirus.
At Yeungnam, his health deteriorated rapidly over a couple of days and he was placed on a respirator.
"Multiple tests were conducted to know if he contracted coronavirus," a health official said. "He tested negative in some tests but positive in a genetic test. A test of tissues from the body is under way."

Are you sure you don;t have underlying conditions? How's your Blood pressure? Blood sugar levels? When 's the last time you really checked? How about your parents and family members etc.?

TLDR answer: The coronavirus is killing them, their underlying conditions are making them susceptible to dying from coronavirus
As I understand it, people are dying from coronavirus induced respiratory distress and/or lower respiratory tract infection.
I believe the issue is twofold:
1. As has been known for a very long time, your ability to survive respiratory distress/LRTI is going to be proportional to the overall state of your lungs
2. As has also been known for a very long time, the severity of a person's infection is going to be proportional to the strength of their immune system
Young, healthy people are likely to have healthy lungs and healthy immune systems so they're likely to experience mild symptoms or no symptoms. Their healthy immune systems can stop the virus from spreading into more and more cells and their healthy lungs are able to keep them alive even with diminished capacity due to infection.
People with healthy lungs but weaker immune systems or healthy immune systems with weaker lungs are probably more likely to experience moderate to severe symptoms and require hospitalization. Their lungs may be overwhelmed to the point that their diminished capacity poses significant risk, and they could potentially die.
And obviously for people with weak immune systems AND weak lungs i.e. most people over ~80 the risk of death seems to be comparatively high. Of course this is also true for the flu and/or other causes of LRTI, pneumonia, bronchitis etc. for this cohort which is where we arrive at the problem with coronavirus rapidly spreading and being highly contagious. The problem isn't that it's "deadlier" than the flu or a bad cold, rather the likelihood of these people contracting it hence the extreme measures to slow it down.

OK, allow me to repeat, only 100 people have died, and I imagine 4,000 of those that have recovered from coronavirus did indeed have your listed underlying medical conditions
Which brings me back to my OP, if only the weakest among us are dying from this, is corona really what is killing them? Please limit future brain farts to the fatality portion of this infection
