OK, I want to talk about cults

I am watching an HBO show called The Vow. It's about a cult, obviously. This one seems kind of lame so far, but it's only a couple of episodes in, so I don't know yet. But we have seen some severe cults, with murders, suicides, etc. My question, what kind of people fall in line with these people? How weak-minded do you have to be? How do they succumb? And I can't wait for the downvotes of the cult I hate the most, the fratertinities!!!!! Ya'll suck the most. Ya'll are in fact a cult.

People that have nothing going on and need a purpose. For example people that get drunk on a Monday and then post on a message board bashing frats. Those type of lost souls.
