Do you as a Christian really think you can be duped if you follow the example of Christ? Love is the only thing that will save our communities and our country and the world. “Active” Christians can be a positive force only if they follow Christ’s command to love others as themselves. “Active” Christians can be a most deadly and destructive force if they turn Christianity into a religion that excludes others from the rule of love because they are different or don’t believe as they do.
Here's the thing...and this isn't necessarily pointed at you, personally, but just an observation from a non-Christian.
What you wrote above is poignant and represents an idyllic view of religion and, more specifically, Christianity. But Christians, especially Evangelicals, allow people to lead them who are NONE of the things you've listed. Falwell Jr. Trump. The Catholic Church.
Christianity is plummeting in the US and while some of it is due to living in a more reasoned period in time with incredible flow of information, a lot also has to do with the hypocrisy on full display from religious leaders who treat their flocks as nothing but pawns in a game.

Looks like someone didn't get a bid. Amount of enmity shown to fraternities is sad. So that cult wasn't for you. You didn't see them banging on your dorm room door begging you to stop playing D&D or WarHammer. Get over it.

Religion is a cult

They ever talk about Texas A&M?

It's funny...of ALL the major religions, islam most closely resembles a Cult.
Funny tho', these Hollywood Docu-soldiers don't have the balls to talk about that.
I mean, if you told most people that mohammed had sex with a child, they would think you're lying.

Back then, God was uncool. Freedom was cool. Breaking free from tradition and convention rippled through the Left with tornado-like speed, destroying the past, creating a world anew.
The Boomers broke free and saw nothing but wide open spaces and a chance to remake a world without God as they launched their counterculture revolution. Eventually, though, they would be sent adrift, with no collective sense of purpose. They chased everything from sex, drugs, and rock and roll to celebrities and cults. So many cults.
quote:
Cults seemed to sprout up everywhere, all of them with the promise of a brand new way of living that fixed every problem.
Most of the cults back then always collapsed under the weight of their own utopian ideals, sex and financial scandals would rise out of the ash heap of failure.
Whatever was left swirled down the drain in the wake of Watergate, the end of Vietnam, and the failure of the Carter presidency, not to mention the more terrifying events like the Manson murders. It was not cool to be a hippie anymore.

Even Rick James thinks that’s a hell of a bump.
