I have great relationships with all of the company men I work for, and I am actually very personable in the real world; I've had company men get in a fist fight on location over who would get me on his shift. However, I've been around this board for quite sometime and knew the responses I would get.
You also have to realize that it's hard to keep in touch with two company men on each frac shift, and then find out who the company man on the coil job will be; on top of that, you have a lot of company men who don't know shite and the current operator we've been doing work for changes out their consultants every three days.

I'm not trying to come off as "high and mighty", I'm just stating the facts of what I see on a daily basis. There are those that earn positions, and those that are handed them. I won't apologize for taking pride in working hard.

I'm aware, and unfortunately that's just the way it is for service hands when time is money on the rigs. My rig time is more valuable than your sleep or personal commitments.
Some companies still employ the good ole boy mentality and you just have to deal with it professional. Good luck in finishing out your PetE degree, take what you've learned and run with it.

Good luck with going back to school. I would love to do that but it would be tough with the kids I have to support.
There are a lot of hardworking people in the oilfield who worked their way up. Including me. Don't always assume everybody else had it handed to them. Until you get that chip off your shoulder you won't be happy with your own job. I was the same way

I have that chip on my shoulder from some of the earlier responses in this thread. I don't care how someone gets their job, as long as they do it right and stay out of my way.
On the other hand, when a coil unit parts pipe because of an inexperienced company man's decision, after you've warned them about it, you become a little bitter; especially when they try to blame you. I'd have been run off had it not been for an old-timer who came up the hard way and is now the HNIC taking my side.
ETA: I love my job.

I know the feeling. I'm on a job right now where we are about to start our third sidetrack because they wouldn't listen to us from the beginning. I would have been home a two weeks ago had it not been for their dumb decisions. Instead I'm on day 28 and will miss Halloween with my kids and probably the bama game as well

Never understood someone with a complex who didn't know the drilling side from top to bottom. And I can't comment on completions / recompletions company men. But I do know it's a buyers market with all the people available.

Making statements that engineers are riding their parents coat tails and don't know shite is just as offensive. I've treated field guys with respect and you still get the ones that are so insecure and stubborn and think they know everything.
it's not like we went and picked up engineering degrees at the store, we busted out arse to get them and like I tell every field hand that makes a smart arse comment, feel free to go back to school and get a degree, no one is stopping you.

Not sure if you're referring to my "complex", or the God complex of company men.
If I have a "complex", and I'm working in the current market, then obviously I'm pretty good at what I do. I don't have a degree, yet, but I earned the title of engineer by proving it. I'm the lead hand and the person they call when they're in a bind for a reason, because the real "company men" who aren't in the field and have moved to running entire regions know that despite my "greenness" as some of you have called it, depend on me. I do more than just mix chemical, I taught myself downhole fluid dynamics, and that's what separates an operator from a completion fluids engineer.
I didn't intend for this thread to turn into this, but after people decided to knock on me, I knocked back.

I didn't say ALL, I said a lot of the ones breaking out today are like that. Also, I'm not stupid and would never make a comment like that to a consultant or company man's face. I make suggestions, they choose to follow them or they don't; but when shite fricks up, don't blame the "hand" after they told you about it beforehand; because I'll fight tooth and nail for my reputation and I haven't lost one of those battles yet.

MasterView and WellView are developed by a company called Peloton. Most operators that have Wellveiw for capturing Drilling and Completions data usually have a central database for the company. You can install a local version / database at the rig site and have daily uploads to the central database. I supported D&C for two operators in IT.
That said, the service company doing the fraqing and completion if they have Wellview, they should be able to provide you proppant and fluid pumped into each stage. Prior to Wellview, I've seen Completion Engineers use Excel to track fraq jobs.
Masterview is not going to give you the stage level details I think you are looking for, Wellview (if the data is captured) could. Hope this helps.
