Oilfield Folks - MasterView/WellView
Posted on 10/29/15 at 4:26 pm
Posted on 10/29/15 at 4:26 pm
I'm looking to get a WellView account; I need to know completion schedules and how many stages have been done on particular fracs, etc.
My company doesn't have an account and I don't know if you can get an individual account. I'm not very familiar with the program, would someone mind explaining a little more about it and how I might go about obtaining individual access? I don't need to be able to make changes/updates; I'm iust looking for info so that I can better plan my schedule.
TIA

talk to your account rep at Halliburton.. they should be able to help you..

I don't work for Halliburton, although I work alongside them occasionally; we're hired by the operator. I work for a small company that does completion fluids, chokes, and well testing. We've got probably 20 employees.
I also feel like you're insinuating that I'm a green hat at a major oilfield services company, and therefore don't know shite about frick. I've got five years running completions and process engineering.

So you've seen and done it all

Five years in the oilfield is a fair amount of experience. A green hand has less than a year or 6 months, depending on the type of work.

I never said I've seen and done it all, that still doesn't make me a green hand.
I've known people on the drilling side who went from floorhand to driller in 6 months.

Thats totally something a greenhand would say.

Ok. I'm done with the trolling bullshite, does anyone have any information of some value?

With all that experience you have I would figure you would have some kind of connection with someone that could better answer your question than a bunch of random people on an LSU sports message board

As for being helpful...I have no idea on Masterview or Wellview. I use RimBase and it sucks so I wouldn't bother with that one.

Are you trying to get access to WellView to see other operators frac jobs? Each operator is going to have their own database and won't give you access to that info

Greenhands get so excited. Seriously though, you are kinda of screwed, you can't just get one license for Wellview. Best bet is to try and find someone who has it and open it for you.

I have actual field experience, not the type that you get from sitting in a classroom or from the job your daddy got you sitting in an office or company man trailer in front of a computer playing consultant.
I have connections, but they all have access through their companies, I'm looking to purchase individual access.

Well view, Openwells, etc sell corporate accounts that aren't cheap. Chances are you cannot get a single account. Don't know why you'd prefer something that complicated when an Excel program could get you the same results.

You have little patience. And I was only halfway trolling. You should know somebody in real life that could help you out. Not a message board

I never met a field hand that didn't have a complex.
Read my thread, you are SOL on a single license.

An Excel program isn't going to give me real-time info on how many stages have been completed on a well, or tell me how many plugs a coil unit has drilled.

That won't fly. Having someone else open it means you'll be intruding on that companies data.
