We are young, but that doesn't make us "green".

Who has more experience; the guy straight out of college who got hired on by an operator or someone who started at the bottom and worked his way up, learning multiple aspects of the job and actually doing them?

BTW, I start this coming Spring semester back at LSU to get/finish my PE degree. It'll be fun to actually know some shite walking into it.

Unless you're comparing past data I don't see how that would help you. A normal Excel hour by hour time forecast could give you the same data with less headache. If you are looking for previous data, your engineer should have everything you need.

I've got over 20 years and I have worked in the field with plenty of PE graduates (Especially in deepwater). Those that prefer their two weeks off compared to the Mon thru Fri rat race. And at a $2800 day rate, they aren't hurting. Those that will belittle you for field work obviously have their own insecurities. Good luck on your search.

Companies use Wellview to track daily operations, but it's all stored on an internal database that's specific to each company. I have it, and the only ops information in the program is specific to my company.

We don't have individual licenses though. We access Wellview through Citrix (online) so that we didn't have to purchase individual licenses and we can access remotely. It also allows us to grant access to all the toolpushers, foremen, etc. Maybe talk to the operator(s) you're working with to see if they have Wellview setup similarly? Would be fairly easy to get Citrix access through the company.

Otherwise, you can see if someone can run the daily operations report in the morning and send out to you so you can keep up with ops.

Thanks. I got tired of not knowing when my next days off would be, if any; and having baby-faced college grads who got on riding their daddy's back trying to tell me how to do my job. The majority of the company men and frac engineers these days can't even calculate AV without their little computer giving them the answer.

It'll also be fun going back to school at 29, could get interesting.

You won't be able to get some end all be all solution with each of the various operator's well progress like you want. If you could actually build a relationship with some of the company men, you might have a better idea about what's going on. Judging by your post in this thread I don't see you being very personable. You sound bitter and should lighten up if you want to be taken seriously.
