Gas is down nearly a quarter per gallon in the last month. Do y'all seriously do any research before you start spouting shite? I looked that up in 15 seconds.

Really? Down a whole quarter? That is what? 10% in one of the cheapest areas of the country for gas?

Because the price of a barrel of oil has dropped 25% in that period.

So what exactly are you arguing?

Nationally, and price dropped 7% today, obviously price at the pump isn't going to be reflected in that. The original post said that price of gas doesn't drop at all when oil prices fall, after 10 seconds of research you can see that is false.

Nice-eh! Thanks for clarifying, so if that's nationally down just under a quarter, it's actually only down 7% over the past month, while again, Oil is down 25% or 18% respectively without today's drop.

8 percent, but yeah. 8% decrease in the finished product on an 18% decrease on one of the inputs. That's completely reasonable. There's 3 main components to production costs, labor, materials, and overhead. Only 1 has changed in this scenario.

Not good for Louisiana.....we are still stupid enough to peg a large amount of state revenues to the excise tax on oil probably somewhere around 65.00 a barrel

I don't really care what gas costs. If it was $5 per gallon I wouldn't change my driving behavior.

I wouldn't change my driving habits, because I walk everywhere, but you should care about gas prices. It affects the price of literally everything you buy

I realize it's an input cost but purely from a driving standpoint it doesn't matter to me. I drive like 8 miles per day and my wife drives maybe 5.
