Bay Marchand assets

Some of the first wells I ever worked on. Workover and completions on a dinky little jack-up. The wells still had Gulf Oil plaques on them. Bay Marchand, South Timbalier and Ship Shoal.

The company that was in the process of buying a big chuck is now having problems coming up with the money.

Most of the newbuild jackups I know of are/where headed to the far east, but you are right the shelf is dead in the GOM.

The GOM shelf has been hammered by low natural gas prices and depletion. Shale plays have pretty much been the final blow for the shelf.

It's just something in liberal states like California. They have a winter blend of gas and a summer blend. Essentially just to collect more tax dollars while changing very little chemistry. If I'm not mistaken I think California is the only state that has this. It doesn't affect us down here, so I'm not really sure why he's complaining about that unless he's in California.

It most certainly effects you down here. Refineries are already pumping lower RVP grades to transition to VOC season. Right now we are going from 13.5 pound RVP to 11.5 to 9.5 to eventually as low as 7.5 in some parts of the country.
