2016 Toyota Camry, full synthetic, 10K miles between changes. Threw me for a loop at first, but that's what Toyota reccomends and what their dealers follow.
I'm not smart enough with cars to go against their recs. I've read some people say to change it more often if you want it to last longer.
Bring in every 5K miles for a tire rotation and top off fluids.

My Toyota owner's manual says ever 10K. That's what I do.

I do it every 5000 miles just to be safe.

I do it anywhere from between 2x-3x year on my daily driver. My daily drive gets 15k-20k a year. If I am using full synthetic I go 2x a year, if I am using conventional I will go 3x a year. 150k miles so far.
Wifes care is 2x a year and she puts on less then 10k miles a year. I've always used full synthetic on her vehicle. Has 140k miles now.
Truck gets less then 2k a year and I change it once a year. 200k miles.
I go by a time interval because its just easier. usually once in the spring and once in the fall.

Synthetic Oil - every 8,000 miles
I use synthetic and my new truck calls for a change every 10k. Should I start doing it at 8k?
Like the OP I always had used cars before buying my new truck and got it changed every 3-5k.

For my car the first oil change was recommended at 16,000 miles, then annually or every 16K thereafter.

i bought a lambo from a fat chick last night. oil change is every 20k or so. she offered me the opportunity to change her oil for 3k, had no idea what the hell that was about.
