CANTON A man needed medical treatment early Sunday after his girlfriend attacked him and mutilated his genitals, police said.
Jamie M. Gammel, 39, of the 500 block of Saylor Place SW, is charged with felonious assault and misdemeanor domestic violence. She was being held in the Stark County Jail.
According to the arrest report, Gammel was charged because she "did attempt to remove the victim's testicles from his body during a physical altercation." Police said the attack caused the victim serious harm that required medical treatment. The report didn't say if a weapon was used in the attack. Police also said that Gammel hit the victim in the face.
Police were called to Gammel's residence just before 4 a.m. on Sunday. According to the arrest report, Gammel and the victim are girlfriend and boyfriend.
