Novak Djokovic will be placed back in detention by Australian authorities on Saturday after his visa was revoked for a second time.

Djokovic will be interviewed by the ABF at 8 a.m. local time on Saturday (Friday 4 p.m. ET) at an undisclosed location "agreed between the parties" in the case.

At that point, Djokovic will be officially detained by two border force officials and escorted to his lawyers' office while his case is heard in the federal court.

He obviously lied on his visa application about traveling, and unfortunately for him he is famous enough to be exposed by social media.

Seriously?!? He is an international tennis player. How many countries has he not been too? Also why does the country even matter at this point? He has been in isolation going on 2 weeks.

Only two weeks to flatten the curve then you can go back to living your life as normal and before.

I agree with you it’s dumb. But it’s their dumb rules he had to abide by and when he arrived in January 5th, he broke one of their dumb rules by traveling internationally in the two weeks prior to that.

There are rules at my work that I believe are dumb, but to continue to get paid and stay unemployed I follow said rules.

Not that hard of a concept.

Well, being the tournament is in Australia that has little relevance in this discussion.

What rule did he break? Did he just forget one of the many places he has been too. Sounds luke they were possibly looking to find something wrong with it.

That would be pretty awesome for an international player to show up for the US Open like that.

"Wait, how did you get here? Our Immigration officers never received your application for a visa."

The Australians better just let the guy leave. Serbs don’t fricking mess around. Their PM will have every single Aussie in Serbia taken into custody if this goes any further.

Did Novak Djokovic LIE on his Australian travel entry form? Ace could face jail as Border Force investigates claims the star made 'false declaration' about visiting other countries ahead of Melbourne flight

Dude just needs to gtfo of dodge and never look back. He’s set for life already, doesn’t need the money, and should just smuggle his arse outta there. That place is a lost cause.

My question is when will Novak fire his agent? This is malpractice for someone who should be handling the business of Novak Djokovic, who is responsible for getting him into every country he travels to

The question is simply whether you have traveled in the 14 days prior to boarding your flight to Australia. That is incredibly hard for someone to be mistaken about. That being said it also could be he just filled in the wrong bubble as long as he didn't double down at any point after arrival.

Funny. No other player had a problem following the rules for entry. Just because you're the number one tennis player in the world doesn't make you exempt from a countries law. Sorry. He's always been super cocky. Obviously thinks he's privileged and rules don't apply to him. Doesn't affect my life one bit.

Seems that his agent did everything he could to get him to play in this tournament. He applied for and received medical exemption for the Australian Open, but then the Australian officials did not apply that exemption to his Visa once he got there.

I’m guessing his support staff filled this out, and I’m guessing if he filled in the yes bubble then the visa application gets denied. Simplest explanation is the staff simply lied filling out the application.
