I think the most likely scenario is one of the pilots was suicidal and just flew the plane straight down into the ocean.

Except they didn't go straight down...with the new reports out.

how in the hell can you watch the largest search effort in history deploying hundreds when you know the plane went in another direction?

good question

I don't think they know where the plane went direction wise though

Why would a suicidal pilot go through the effort of making the plan untrackable? Why would he care?

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — Two men traveling with stolen passports on a missing Malaysia Airlines jetliner were Iranians who had bought tickets to Europe and were probably not terrorists, law enforcement officials said Tuesday

If there needed to be any more evidence of how absolute clueless everyone is it's the statement "probably not terrorists."

This may have been posted yesterday, but it's a decent synopsis of a few scenarios. That said, it's almost a day old, and does not include the information from Malaysia about it possibly turning back and getting all the way to the strait.
Four scenarios

This thing is getting strange. No pings from the locators that are designed to deploy when the plane hits water or earth.

Why would you think this? Do the laws of physics justs top working after an engine shuts down?

The same reason they make gliders as LITE as possible and not out of lead!

Ok I didn't literally mean straight down. I just meant that it was purposely crashed.

Anybody can be a terrorist dude. I think what they mean is that they have no known connection to a terrorist organization.

well we know it's not where they have been looking because they tracked it to the malacca strait. if it continued from there, it entered the bay of bengal, which is much, much larger

Is this supposed to justify thinking a plane is incapable of gliding? because it doesn't.

But if he's going to crash it, why not just do it from 35,000 feet instead of 3,000 feet that eyewitness reports now say they saw a plane flying at?

if it landed in the bay of bengal, they'll be looking for a while

Is it possible for ALL communication to go out on the plane so that there's no way to commicate with someone on the groud? Or is there always some way to radio back in?

The way I see it, either 1a) EVERYTHING was broken and there was no way to communicate they had problems. They turned around, glided in-tact into the water, and amazingly nobody noticed.

1b) EVERYTHING was broken and there was no way to communicate they had problems. They turned around, crashed into the Indonesian jungle, and amazingly nobody noticed.

2) Pilots intentionally did something. Turned off all communication, literally flew under the radar. Then who knows...

Edited for spelling

Like most plane crashes this is likely an electrical/mechanical malfunction, pilot error or a combination of the two.

Technically we don't know there was an actual crash yet.
