I don't see how the co pilot saying good night really thickens the plot.
It does bc it is being reported that the "Good Night" was said after the transponder was turned off.

Meh.
The plane was hijacked and is chilling somewhere. All people on board minus hijackers are dead. Hijackers are watching all this on the news and following this thread on here.
Who is the hijacker? I don't know. Maybe one of the pilots, but whoever it was is watching all of this and laughing. Their plan was a huge success.

Somehow I get the feeling it's only half-time in their plan.

Map of possible runways the plane could have landed based on a runway of 5000ft
Question, which I'm sure has already been asked and answered...
Does the 777 WANT a 5,000 foot runway to land, or does it NEED a 5,000 foot runway to land? As in, can it land on a short runway, much like that 747 landed a while back in Kansas or Oklahoma or whatever? Didn't it land on something far to short for it to be able to land on?

Landing isn't the big concern. It's being able to take off again if that's the plan

Excellent question

I'm guessing chutes could possibly be used in braking.

1. If there is a part 2, then:
a. The airplane has to land intact enough to take off.
b. The airplane has to be refueled.
The US is likely aware of landing strips that could provide both of the above in the northern arc that the plane would have taken. (Given that the plane flew for 6 to 7 hours after losing contact).

Jumping out of a 777 at cruising speed? Good luck surviving that.

I didn't say for jumping out. I added "in braking".

You would automatically loose consciousness, if I had to guess.
Then you would for sure shite on yourself.

Can someone tell me if there really is one switch that can depressurize a commercial cabin risking everyone inside? Is it really that easy?

If it is that easy, it probably shouldn't be.
Posted on 3/17/14 at 8:06 am to Kingpenm3
I can't imagine that's true

I doubt anyone named Hakim is in the least bit familiar with a razor...

Yes ..its a very large prominently displayed red button that says "DO NOT PUSH". Usually right next to the self-destruct button...
