Pakistan said "We have not received any requests from Malaysia authorities for help, nor have we any information on the plane's whereabouts"
Real trustworthy group, the Pakistanis.
Even if this is terrorism, I doubt they made it out to Pakistan, but anything their government says is laughable.

if it crossed afghan's airspace, the US would know all about it.
I don't believe this at all.
There has to be so much monotony in these jobs especially over these little countries. Stuff constantly flying over and if it's following the correct commercial routes would they really even take notice?

They would have to cross India to get to Pakistan.

I know, I just saw that quote and laughed, thinking "Well that settles that!"

IIRC, almost all of the rest of the flight path was over land.
Yeh that is my point. No need to be "hidden" since you are a commercial airliner. Once you get to a point tgat you need to veer off course then you go hidden. This is all based on the plane going to Central Asia of course or the northern track.

It's almost noon in Malaysia, I would think there would be a press conference from the PM any time now.
Posted on 3/15/14 at 10:48 pm to iluvdatiger
Happened around 4am last night.
And we have an air base in Afghanistan .

If they don't have one soon they will be pressed for time to contradict the statements at it later in the day.

So, what happens now?
No news. They don't find the plane. Time passes.
When does it end, and two years later we say, "oh yeah, I remember that. What ever happened to that plane?"

Are those the very reliable Taliban ATC in Afghanistan?

I think we get a pretty quick resolution to this. They seem to be homing in on an area now. In fact, I think the information has been there all along, it was just a matter of analyzing the data and/or putting it out there in a format that doesn't reveal too much about American surveillance capabilities.
But what if the guy waited until his copilot went to the head, locked the door behind him, and went on his merry way without ever saying another word? We'll know what he did, but we'll never know why.

If so, they may know more than has been made public.

Could be our generations Amelia Earhart.
Though terrorists live on installing fear. If a couple of more planes disappear with no trace, people are going to be really afraid to fly.

I think we find it. I think we have a good idea of where to search but releasing the facts are caught up in politics. Malaysia is running the show. They are in charge of the investigatin.

The southern route. They know where to point the satellites to look for wreckage now, and once they find that, they can use wind and water currents to backtrack to the impact point and find the black boxes.
