Seeing as there is no "good" use for that feature, maybe future planes can have a different setup.
No fricking shite... He said the pilots could put on masks, sit at 35k feet, depressurize and within 5-10 min, everyone would be dead.

The point is, one doesn't need to hijack a 777 to do this. It would be relatively easy to do it with a number of old used airliners on the market today. Legally, so to speak.
If this was the pilot then it might have been his only chance and it happened to be the 777?
We just don't know?

This has been a CF for the Malaysians. They have looked like clowns.

Exactly, you'd have to have the right pilot.... This guy just got promoted to captain on a 777. Maybe the original plan was for a 737 and he got promoted before they could execute it.

If hijacked, this was really well planned
Thanks Obama.
Thanks Obama.

Why would a undocumented 737 be unnoticed by us?
Every single plane even private planes are tracked by the FAA you can't sneak a plane into the United States unnoticed.
Exactly! It wouldn't be an undocumented 737, it would be registered to Acme, Inc. or some such shell company. Fly it in a few times like it's a legitimate company then do the dirty deed.
On the other hand, it would be virtually impossible for a 777 to approach the USA without raising suspicion, even 2-3 years from now.

Well not only that but think of the threat of a common 737 loaded with nukes which doesn't raise suspicion as it flies over New York
You keep saying this. Why do you think any plane.. much less a 737.. has the ability to fly into this country without raising suspicion?
ETA: you answered above

Honestly, this was all kind of a running joke for a while but there is an unsettling feeling about this situation now. The entire Eastern Hemisphere is under threat until they find this fricking plane.

Except it's needed to be able to survive.
While flying at 35,000 feet you need the cabin to be pressurized to a certain level for you to be able to breath.
We also use it for medevac flights in my job. Medical conditions can be exaggerated by different pressures. We use the feature to set the cabin altitude and not make whatever is ailing them worse.

I don't think the US would be the target.

He's not talking about pressurization, he's talking about the pilot being able to depressurize whenever he wants with the push of a button.

Nah. They had their chance to do some damage. Intel will be all over this.

Well then all you need is to establish a shell company, all the paperwork associated, get the aircraft registered and have the half million dollars to purchase the plane any fees and costs associated with landing and fueling at certain airports.
All of that is if you are tying this to some major terrorist organization which is a huge jump consider we have no idea who what where when or how on any of this shite.
You're definitely right though

Here is your choice: You get to steal Magnum's Ferrari, which one do you want, the one with the 60 gallon tank(full) or the one with the 30(full)?

That was part of my theory a few pages back.

Probably not. But again, they wouldn't need to steal a 777 to have a flying weapon platform whatever the target.

We should get a press conference out of Malaysia shortly.
Obviously, the conclusion is a hijacking. Hope to hear something from US and China soon.
