Good grief... it appears that the 1st band is stalling and the 2nd band if filling in, not sure if you could draw up a worse scenario

They are connecting into one large plume. At least that's what it's starting to look like.

I was a kid during Allison but I don't remember it having this rate of rainfall. This is insane.

Not nearly as much as like an hour ago. I live in Midtown. I think the fill in cell is over me right now.

Sounds like a war zone outside my house. Power blinked once and came back on. Nassau Bay on a boat canal off of Clear Lake near the Hilton.

Good.

I ask bc lightning rates are a rough correlation to convection power and rainfall potential. Stay safe and be smart tonight

Good to know, thank you. This last band was intense but nothing like the first one at 10 pm ish. I don't think I've experienced rainfall like that in Houston before.

Will do. Gonna log off for a while due to low battery on my laptop. Don't want to plug it in till the lightning dies down. Will continue to monitor thread on my phone. Thanks to all you guys for all your info.

The rain is picking back up in the Heights.

Moderate wind.

Not much thunder.

The water around my house receded slightly from earlier but if we get another band like we did around 9 it's going to get dicey.

Sante Fe and Dickson area may be in trouble if that band doesn't move eastward.
