If that person has changed their ways and is trying to do better and being a good person and all that, then no a past record does not define them their entire life because they learned from their mistakes and changed their ways. However, if that person doesn’t learn from previous mistakes and continues to do bad things and getting in trouble and all that, then yea their record pretty much defines them because that’s who they are and who they have been and continue to be.
It’s not that difficult to understand.
