Him making one handed TD catches made him a story which put him more into the public eye, which lead to the media paying more attention to his every move.
Because stories about him gets more views than if they would do a story on Jon Halapio (NYG center). To some degree I think he does things just because he knows the cameras are always on him.. And to some degree it is his way of giving them the middle finger. As if to say "no matter what I do they will make a story out of it so here.. write about this".
