Anybody here have the sticker? If so, how easy was it to get?

I tinted my windows to 30% because my wife is ginger and sunburns easily. Never had a problem and never got an exemption. I didn't even know they existed.

To be fair, 30% isn't super dark like some of the tinted windows that I've seen. I think factory tint is around 20%.

YES. Read the Statute. Any elected official gets an automatic exemption from the window tint statute. Those frickers.

I have a skin condition that makes me very photosensitive. You'll need one form from your dr for each vehicle you plan to tint. Originals not copies. Fingerprints from sheriff office. Then about 3 different forms from dept of public safety. Then some cash. Good luck. I got about halfway through the crap then just tinted my windows without the sticker. They make it very difficult.

Just tint your windows. The 3 vehicles I've driven over the past 15 years have all had illegal tint on the front two windows. I've never been ticketed for illegal tint.

Just don't call attention to yourself by driving like a jackass or playing loud music and you'll be fine.

It's just window tint. I just want my windows to match. It looks like shite otherwise. Either all the windows are tinted, or none of the windows are tinted.

If you can't handle the sun getting on you maybe you should just stay inside.

I just pay mine once a year to strip off the 2 front windows. I then get it inspected and bring it back and let him re tint the fronts.

This is the OT, when the sticker expires, I just go get a new truck which comes with a new sticker. Inspection stations are usually trashy, so I avoid them.

People have skin problems. We wish we didn't. I promise. You have no idea. But there are ways to help and tint is one of them. No reason it should be so hard to get exemption.

just went to different stations until I found one that didn't check the tint. I now roll the front windows down before getting checked. This has worked for years.

This is what I do. Drive in with the windows down.

I bought the vehicle with the windows tinted like they are. Sure as hell not spending the money to get them retinted

This.

I've had 5% on every window including the entire windshield since I started driving and haven't been ticketed. I did get pulled over once for it and the cop said to get it fixed. I see him all time and he just looks and stares but never pulled me over again. I've gotten other tickets but no cop has said anything about my windows.

Our law in Ga allows for 32% max in the front side windows. Back side and rear can be as dark as you want. Windshield can be 32% max for the top 6 inches. This is for SUVs. Cars can only have 32% in all windows except windshield. My SUV is black and all windows except the windshield are so dark you can only see outlines of bodies through them.

I have been stopped three times and never given a ticket. I usually open the windows so the LEO can clearly see inside when he approaches my window. One GSP officer did mention my tint and tested my drivers side window. Said it was way out of compliance but just told me to get it corrected.

window tint exemption

Why do you want it?

I ask because darker tinting does not equate to cooler car.

If you just want the car to be cooler you don't need it. If you want it for some other reason, ya it's trashy.

Y'all just tint your own. Its not that damn hard.

I've got double blackout on back window, blackout on to small side windows, 5% on my windows, and a 12 inch low blackout strip on front windshield.

Keeps it cool during these hot Louisiana days plus people can't just casually look in to see what I have in my truck.

Seriously this is it. I've had darker than legal tint (not super dark, usually 20-35%) on every vehicle I've owned. If you drive a normal looking vehicle and don't act the arse you won't get hassled.
