I'm buying a canoe and the sizes I am seeing for oars are 48 and 60". What size should I get?

Forget about ore/oars. What you want to buy for your canoe are some paddles. Longer for adults, shorter for kids.

Go small. Too much ore could sink a canoe.

This, make sure you are buying a paddle for a canoe, oars or for row boats

Canoes are best paddled. Proper paddles sizes are dependent on paddlers height and reach.
