A Lot of us on here are young guns... but my question is, do y'all remember watching the Launch/Landing on TV and being enthralled with it as a Nation ?

Please let's not get into conspiracies.

I was a very little kid. We had just moved into our new house. I'll always associate the moon landing with the smell of fresh paint.

I was born a few weeks after the Apollo 13 mission and was only 2 years old when Apollo 17 launched. So while I was alive, I don’t remember any of them.

I don't remember 11 (I was just 2) but remember watching 15. It was a great time to be a kid, "space" was everywhere and we all wanted to be astronauts.

It was a huge deal, but I was a kid. I remember getting a commemorative coin from Gibsons Discount Center (a forerunner of Walmart) but we didn't have a TV in our house.

I watched and read everything I could about the Space Progams. Gemini,Apollo, etc. The whole nation was watching. We stayed up all night to watch Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon. It was exciting times. I just finished reading an account of Apollo 11. I was 12 years old for Apollo 11.

Only 4 tv channels back then and that’s if you had enough alum foil on the antenna.

We had one of those. I got all my model airplanes there.

I was not quite 12 years old. I watched the landing on TV and went outside to try to see Armstrong and Aldrin walking around on the moon.

Damn. Look at Mr. Fancy here with his 4 channels. We only had 3. And one of them was usually fuzzy as hell.

I had just turned 3. Watching it on tv is one of my earliest memories.

I remember watching it. It was a huge deal the week before and after. In those turbulent times, it was the biggest thing that brought the country together with pride.

Watched it in the basement, it was late at night.

Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Summer between 2nd & 3rd Grade, I’d not yet found my “special purpose” but I did realize already that I wanted to check under Natalie Wood’s hood.

It was a huge deal, I was 14, our living room looked just like the scene in the Apollo 13 movie with Tom Hanks. But at our house here were very few men present, like my Dad most worked on the program and were at work during the landing.

I grew up in rural north Alabama about halfway between Huntsville and B’ham. We had channel 6 (ABC) and 13 (NBC) if you didn’t mind the static we also had 42 (CBS). Later on when I was a teen channel 21 came out.

26 was hit or miss depending on weather.

Watched at Harvey heckmiers place. Next door.
Wife of neighbor was so stoked.
I didn't care. I had mono and was dragging.

The wives were really into it.
It was better than Parcheesi, our couples usual evening.
