I know these kind of things are difficult to understand so let's break this down to a way that even a 10 year old could understand with one question. And this is about the thread title and police wanting to strike.
Are these officers wanting to strike because of the BLM movement and the national view that they need to be reformed (and they do need to be reformed in some cases)? Yes or No.
Any non moron answers no that that question. They are walking out on incompetent/corrupt/racist leadership. Leadership that has hung them out to dry, done nothing to address community problems (other than steal money from them), and overall acted like the lowest kind of stupidity you can get. And most importantly these clown that think of themselves as leaders have done nothing to try and help mend fences between law enforcement and the community. All to get dem votes.
But you go ahead with what you thought was you cool point about everyone being boot lickers when you can't even understand what this one issue is really about.

I never have issues responding in kind when people bring an actual argument to the table. How else am I supposed to respond to random attacks or box attempts with no other relevant statements attached?

I bet I am not the only baw here that has patrolled an AO with a primarily hostile populace with a shitty ROE. Where just driving down the road could be fatal.
Do you ever remember going out on strike?
Cops need more training they need to train probably 10 times what they do now. They should have deferred the 50 cals and APCs and spent the money training the officers to not go ape shite when someone resists. If you don't train constantly the moment someone lays hands on you the fear hits, fear is the worst thing you can have in the situation. The majority of cops are good but the majority of them are poorly trained.

No, and like I said, if they want to quit, I have no issues. A strike makes it about them the individual and not what they represent. A strike to me says you’re ignoring your oath because it’s too hard.

I agree with all of this.
For the amount of power we give to law enforcement, the level of training they get is abysmal.

Because you aren’t paying attention. Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Philando Castile, Eric Garner. These people are mentioned constantly by “BLM types”, whatever that means.

This would be a better test if they didn't have to still pay the police to go on "strike" so you could spend that money elsewhere. You know theyre just going to take paid leave.
NYC spends $11 billion a year on police. $2.8 billion for pensions alone. That's 4x what the state of Louisiana pays for pensions.

I would think it’s kind of a two way street about the taking the oath part. When you agree to it, you expect just a little support from the politicians and DA’s and not for them them to act like third world shithole village leaders.

Yep. Plenty of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Botham Jean, and others to bring up and rally behind so why bring up a guy like sterling who was reaching for the cops gun or mike brown who was charging police? You miss the mark with people who want to support you when you bring up cases that were justified police force.

You’ll get no disagreement from me on this either. Politicians are mostly corrupt pandering hacks. The issue with police reform doesn’t just involve the precinct. It’s every level from street patrol and chief to DA and Supreme Court to city council and congress.

That's a bit of a non-sequitur. We're talking about workforces, not populations. One is a police department only and the other is a mix of different types professions from file clerks, IT, state police, accountants, doctors, etc.
The NYPD and the state have a similar number of employees, which is why the comparison was made. I think there might actually be slightly more NYPD employees than there are Louisiana state workers.
You could easily say that the NYPD spends 3x as much on pension costs per employee than the state of Louisiana does. Debt payments included. Remember that the next time someone cries about pension costs.
