He’s from the southwest corner of the state. There’s a lot of Mormon country type folk down there that like to hunt, hike and ride ATVs. Kid was probably an experienced shooter.

Is this a very hard shot from that distance? I'm not familiar with rifles. Could a hunter make that shot or would you have to be trained?

People around here need to look at c on z's post history and then re-read my reply.

Nobody’s denying there are extremists on both sides, that’s obvious. (If it appears that I am, I hope you see I don’t mean to). But there’s a massive difference between politicians threatening to primary Thomas Massie and people openly celebrating the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
I apologize for putting words in your mouth. I’ve interacted with you enough over the years to know that’s not at all who you are as a person.
I don’t have an agenda. I’m just disgusted by the amount of whataboutisms and “both sides” clapbacks, when it should be about the Left taking a long hard look in the mirror. Practice what they preach: tolerance, understanding, and acceptance of others viewpoints. The very thing Charlie Kirk died for on Wednesday.

how’d he manage to pull off that shot?
i've been out the loop but aren't we talking about a shot less than 150 yards?

It was 150-200 yards. not feet.

It’s not a hard shot, especially for an experienced hunter likes he seemed to be.

I was speaking to the death threats he received more so.

I think the larger problem on the left is you have moderate Democrats (that really are moderate) and then a sect of the party that has been co-opted by folks like the "Free Palestine" crowd and have pushed for a focus on extreme minority populations and the like. And it's just gotten more extreme from there.
But that's obviously a discussion for another thread/day (and I have clients rolling in).
Thank you for the measured response though. I do appreciate that. And I think at the end of the day we all want a lot of the same things: Safety for ourselves and our families, reasonably priced groceries, housing, good health, personal freedoms, etc. I'm just mostly sad that it's gotten so far apart.

What is your definition of being radicalized?

Curious who is saying that and what terms they're assigning to the left.
We have a democrat extremism problem in this country, and for every action there's an equal and opposite reaction: If she thinks there has been violence from the other side, she hasn't seen anything yet. It sucks to say that, but the truth is the truth. People are done with the bullshite.
They just assassinated an objectively good, polite, logical and reasonable man, husband and father that was beloved by young people (who increasingly have less and less to lose, even the Republican ones), and then those young people watched as democrats danced with glee all over social media after hearing about it. She can't comprehend what that does to the psyche of a sane young person. Sane, victim card-less youth who are driven to rage, and who feel their future is meek and have nothing to lose are the most dangerous kind of people. You aren't putting the cat back in the bag, and it will be the sole fault of the democrat party and their media collaborators: Their bloodlust to radicalize the youth into blowing a man's head off in front his children because he didn't say the right words is plain to see. Democrat denial of accountability is over with.
Democrats cheering and celebrating en masse and blaming Charlie Kirk for his own assassination because of words is not being done in some vacuum: One look at TikTok comment sections shows THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of real people with real lives who are reveling as they watch quarts of blood spew from Charlie Kirk's neck.
Over words. Over Ideas.
The tired old boomer, "both sides," lie evaporated into the wind when Charlie Kirk was split in half by one of the democrat party's protege's bullets - as they cheered. There's only party of violence and intolerance, but now they've got a real problem on their hands, but it's not going to be the same, "problem" written on their imaginary, made up, victim card: They just murdered the most polite, cheerful Christ-centered one that they had to deal with, and what is going to fill the void will not be what they're expecting.

It's quite simple, actually.

A hunter could make it. The fiancé shot competitive with ROTC in high school and could absolutely hit it.

Any hunter or someone even minimal firearm experience can make that shot.

we 100% agree. And when that happens the leaders/politicians of said party (regardless of which) need to publicly take them to the mat for it. It doesn’t happen and that’s why we’re here.

Ditto Miss Belle. It’s not the world we would want our children to grow up in. It’s our duty to find common ground and a path forward.

I can’t comprehend how someone his age would just give up the rest of his life like that. No way he is dumb enough to thought he would get away with it

That is definitely someone who was radicalized. The blanket claim that thousands of college students are being radicalized isn't valid. Social media and the internet is the bigger issue.
