From the first link in the article you posted. I’m not saying these are all due to Corona but let’s not act like this thing isn’t way more deadly than the flu.

I completely agree but I just think 3,700 is a lot of people to add to the death toll in your city when they aren't confirmed cases. That means 37% of the deaths they are attributing to coronavirus are unconfirmed cases, that is a pretty high percentage.

This is pretty much the same way they typically count deaths from the flu.
Just mentioning it since the same people who will use this to say coronavirus numbers are BS will say the flu kills 50k a year in order to downplay covid

I've read elsewhere that rules in some areas have been changed and people found dead in their home or on the street are being pronounced on the spot by paramedics/first responders, rather than transported to a hospital. That might account for the change cited in this quote.

Holy Toledo.....that is some padding the stats. If you figure in NY they get an extra $12K in funding per Covid patient. That should be an extra $44M.

How so? You do realize that NY was complaining that they only got an extra $12K per patient while because of the way CMS dishes out the money some less impacted states got 25 times more per patient.

Don't mind him. He's just upset because the reality of this virus is becoming more and more flu like by the day. They're even back counting unconfirmed cases to pump up the numbers at this point.

They also estimate the number of people who have the flu based on number of confirmed tests. 250k confirmed tests equals 50 million people with flu.
I wonder if they will do the same with COVID-19.
Brings the real mortality rate down to that of a strong flu season and means 30% of the country already has immunity.

Actually there is some truth here. While the reimbursement rate likely won’t change given contract allowable, the patient responsibility could shift to insurance companies. Therefore you sir likely don’t know what you are talking about.
