Any plans to give out medals like Purple Heart etc. to honor them?
For doing their job? Hey, I did my job the whole time also? I'd be perfectly happy with a beer.

The thread about Oschner antibody testing, showing no difference between public and "Frontline hero" infection rates. That thread blows this whole narrative out of the water?
How? They didn't know at the time what they were getting in to. The anti hero losers such as yourself have been much louder than the supposed self centered nurses btw.

I'm a hospice RN and we have had nothing but COVID patients for almost two months now.
The extra $13 hr hazard pay has been a welcome acknowledgement for the incessant gowning & ungowning of (insufficient, yet suffocating) PPE we do every night.
The biggest downside, personally, has been my 75 y/o parents, rightfully, avoiding in-person contact with me because I'm in constant contact with positively-tested patients.
I don't want a Purple Heart. I just want to take Mom & Dad out to dinner again, like I used to every week.

Maybe give them some extra vacation time. My wife just told me this last night that. That here in Ohio if you go out of the state, for vacation or anything else, when you return you have to quarantine yourself for 14 days. If you have no vacation time left, to cover your quarantine, then tuff shite. You just miss work with no pay. I'm sure her Union will sort this out.

The real heroes are going to the chiropractors who have to treat all the nurses who need adjustments after patting themselves on the back so much.

Only the ones that pose with "we stay here for you, so stay home for us" signs

I’m surprised there hasn’t been some low-level healthcare worker wearing scrubs get accused of stolen valor on the news
“Where’d you get that stethoscope huh?”
“That’s not official, I did three tours in triage”
“Stolen valor!”

Leave it to the OT together triggered by nurses and doctors
