Slavery in areas where it was prevalent delayed development and caused stagnation. Industrialized areas developed much faster.
The South is still lagging in some areas because of a reliance on slave labor and agriculture. It benefitted relatively few individuals and not the nation as a whole.

There were still slaves in the north post emancipation proclamation. Thought the north were the good guys who were anti slavery. Hm

Slavery was in the south, not the north and what was built up by slavery, Most of it was destroyed in the civil war in the south.

your whole Crux was how America was built on slaves. Now you're asking me what the Civil War has to do with it? 
Only places slavery is actively practices today is in minority held places. Ie. Africa. And the middle east.
Coincidentally enough, those two places have been the hot bed of slavery since time immortal.
I do like how you've pivoted away from American slavery to slavery as a whole now that your "white people are evil slave owners" shtick has failed.

It doesn't surprise me though that the level of slavery defenders only extends to the 1850s
