Did they pour asphalt IN the storm drain?
That’s standard procedure in EBR. It flies down the water and allows silt to build up. That way thd weeds have time to root and grow. As the weeds grow more trash and silt collects and then you get a curb inlet functions at 25% capacity.
I think there’s a detail of how to do it on every EBR road project.

According to folks on Next Door. Next Door posters are notorious complainers. I'm skeptical. Now, Broadmoor had issues. Which happens when it rains a lot.

Since the "improvements" government can no longer be driven down anyway. The city took a bad situation with that road and made it TEN times worse.

It really wasn't THAT bad before except for the times when Claycut was constantly closed due to that random bridge being out for no reason over and over and over.

Hardly. In some ways it's better now. You can take lefts out much easier now that you have a median to sit in. They put a turn an arrow at that godawful left onto Community College by the Popeyes so you can zoom right on through the light now.

i have lived within a block of government for 42 years, in goodwood and then capital heights and I have commuted to downtown every day of this period. This is the best that government street has ever been for local residents. it is a very nice improvement in every way except the ability to drive 60 mph.
