Friends of mine just remodeled a business out that way. Fire Marshall said the water mains on that side of the river were only 3" diameter main lines, so there was no reason to install a sprinkler system.

I found that hard to believe until now.

As they continue to not do a single fricking thing to better themselves. I’d be pissed at the world too if all I had was a high school diploma and a picture ID from the local grocery store.

Main water supply lines in Baton Rouge are probably closer to 12" minimum.
4" main line can't carry enough water to maintain pressure.
It's like drinking through a coffee stirrer in reverse.

Here's what Google says

quote:

In Baton Rouge, the main water lines are typically between 1 inch and 36 inches in diameter, according to the Baton Rouge Water Company. The Louisiana Department of Health (.gov) also specifies a minimum of 6-inch diameter for water mains providing fire protection. For general distribution, the minimum size is 3 inches, but this can vary depending on specific needs and hydraulic analysis.

Even 6" main lines would have a ton of friction pressure drop over the length of a few miles.

Whoa! 36" water mains? That's a lot of water!

That doesn’t look too bad. Isn’t that the restaurant portion? At least it looks contained to that wing and not in the main house. That’s fixable

Usually those old homes go up in flames so fast it’s not possible to stop it. Good job on the firemen to contain it

ETA shite just made it farther in the thread. That’s sad to see. Looks like they had it out in the pic I responded to, how did they let it get reignited and not stop it?

Ummmmm, might want to look at page 5. It was out, started back up a few hours later, and now the whole building has burnt to the ground.

Who is celebrating? Mostly ghetto scum with low IQ’s and poor impulse control that are texting from government phones from shitty section 8 housing. Basically still living on a plantation.

Holy shite.

Always wanted to visit this one and never had the chance. Guess it’s out now.

Isn’t this the one they filmed the Bennett Manor plantation scene for Django Unchained. Always loved that scene with Don Johnson absolutely nailing his southern accent.
