Nothing like celebration station during the summer time as a kid in the 90s!

Every morning when I drop my son off at summer camp, I think about the great time I had when I went in the 90s. We went swimming, movies, and skating but my favorite was when we went to celebration station. We all fought over our turn to play mortal kombat, nba jam, and tmnt. I was jealous of the celebration station in New Orleans with the bumper boats. I only went there one time and had a lot of fun and it was bigger then the one in Baton Rouge.
I know this is not the same one from New Orleans but I loved seeing it every time we rode past it on the interstate when we went to visit some friends of the family.

Skate Galaxy was also awesome in the late 90s.

It was almost a rave for kids without drugs and scary people.

That was fun too! Where was the other skating rink before skate galaxy opened. Was it on Florida blvd? I can’t remember the name of it.

Was it Skate Heaven? I think there was 2 spots. There was also an ice rink that I remember when I was younger. No idea the locations on these 2, it was way before I drove or knew where the frick I was when my parents took me somewhere.

As someone who is about to have their first baby, I fear these places I loved are dwindling and no longer as magical. Celebration Station with $20 worth of tokens in 1995-1997 was hard to beat. Street Fighter 2 Turbo.

Also, every kid went to Skip Bertmans batting cages. Street Fighter game there as well.

Yes. I remember we had a team practice there once and we had half the team doing grounders in the big room in the back and the other half was hitting in the cages. Our coach knew a guy supposedly, but we had it reserved just for us for like 2-3 hours. Good memories.

I worked at the one in Baton Rouge as one of my jobs in HS/college from 90-96. Had some great times, great stories, and still have friends from there. After work parties in the parking lot got a little crazy at times.

Best part about the mini golf was catching the ball on the final hole before it dropped into the return. Then going play another round for free

Leo's roller rink. Between Choctaw and the mall. Ice and roller skating in 2 metal buildings next to each other.

They paved paradise and put up a parking lot.

It almost compares to Fun Works on Power Blvd.

We had Celebration Station in Houston. It was at Highway 59 and Fondren. It was right across the street from a new car dealership. Lots of golf balls were hit in that direction... Had some good times there!

Remember Malibu Grand Prix? That's where I spent most my quarters. Defender, Stargate, and Xenophobe.

Fun Fair Park and Putt Putt Golf was a bit more in my wheelhouse, but I can remember when Celebration Station first opened and going there a few times. What’s the place like now?

If you grew up in New Orleans East you’ll remember Skate Country on Chef Menteur Hwy. Definitely had some good times there in the 80’s. Orbit Lanes too for bowling.
