Kendrick is so overrated. Rappers who don't have drug and/or murder charges should be be ignored.

It was slow at work last night so out of curiosity, I started looking up mumble rappers after watching something else. Like 21 Savage (?) and someone named Young Thug (?).

It’s beyond my mental comprehension how someone, let alone anyone, can listen to that shite. Outside of the fact you can’t understand them, can anyone actually say they’re “talented” with a straight face?

I can do the same thing. Let me sleep for 12 hours, wake me up, and put a mic in front of me with some auto tune. Boom. I’m a rapper.

I guess the entire crowd should be checking in here... nobody is watching. When they show the crowd all you can see is cell phones recording.

I'm 100% serious. Real rappers sold dope and shot people.

Actually...that's likely where you would spot him.

Rap is just stupid performed live.
Most new rappers are, but I've heard plenty who weren't.

I'm sure it's no coincidence that some of the best ones I've seen performed with a live band.

Saw Bone Thugs n Harmony about 10 or so years ago and they put on one of the best concerts I've been to with a live band, regardless of genre.

It's undeniable that rap is devolving into who has the coolest beat and what kind of vocal patterns are the most catchy. Popular music in general is doing their own variations of that. It's mostly watered down stuff on the radio.

I'll be damned if it's not catchy though

Definitely so. Almost all popular music now days is garbage.

It's mostly people just copying styles.

?

If there is any point to rap at all -- and even that is debatable -- it is improvisation

I don't think you can blame Boomers for Kendrick Lamar.

I don't know if that's true, I think rap loses a lot more of the sounds and shite from mixing than other genres do. I don't give a shite about their improvisation because it's not like I knew the lyrics anyway. I'd have no way to tell

I watched a video with snoop and that’s basically what he wa sayin. The cadences are all the same and you can’t undesatf shite. He said back in the day, that was against the rules and could get shot for ripping off other peoples shite.

Now, that’s all they do.
