If you saw the accident the other day at Hwy 21 you know what I'm talking about....If you have been on the interstate at any time in the morning or afternoon in that area, you know what I am talking about.....how many more bad accidents will it take to convince the politicians?

Seems like closing that onramp is an easier fix.

St. Tammany Parish President already sent a letter to the governor since the accident.

I know they like to blame the Pinnacle on ramp, but you have 80,000+ cars a day passing through that area three lanes is a pretty good long term investment. From what I understand, hey may look at expanding sometime in 2023.....but they have to "study" the impact first.....translated, somebody's friend needs to make some nice consulting fees as to kick back to the appropriate politician

Not sure on the long term fix but I can't figure out why, given that it backs up EVERY SINGLE DAY, they don't put some appropriate signage out there.

Signs that say WARNING! LIKELY CONGESTION AHEAD / SLOW DOWN AND BE ALERT FOR STOPPED TRAFFIC.

That would seem to this non-traffic engineer to be a wise move.

I10 and I12 need to be 6 lanes or more entire length of the state. But its all a money issue.

You'll have to figure out how Politician X's cousin Bubba can make a few (or ten) million (and kick some back to Politician X) on the deal. Otherwise, you're shite out of luck, baw.

On that note, can someone explain why interstates cost tens of millions of dollars a mile? I get that they are big projects and have to be durable but damn. At the end of the day its dirt and concrete.

Like 50 years. It's not even really a money issue. It's a time issue. Interstate construction in Louisiana moves to slow for some reason.

The libs like to blame the object so why arent people staging die ins at the capitol? Resist!(getting on I12)

Well if the project requires federal funding, it has to have an environmental study anyway.

Here is what I don't get. St. Tammany is growing and continues to attract more residents and yet the place has poor infrastructure and it is a battle to get state or Federal spending. This when the House Majority Whip represents the area and just about everyone in the parish voted for him......if this were Texas, not only would the interstate have been widened after Katrina, they would have been designing A LOOP around the area in anticipation......but this is Louisiana, will go for an inadequate fix that is cheap and ultimately ineffectual.

The entirety of I-12 needs to be three lanes each way.
