Ben's Ford is no where remotely close to Covington......and you will truly understand the definition of "cult".

2 yrs ago the parents with kids attending there were ready to lynch the administration after a "faculty" member held an impromptu gathering for the lil ones and explained Santa Clause did not exist and telling kids they should be ashamed their parents are liars.

You have an amazing gift. I am sure you can also deduce guilt or innocence by merely seeing a picture of the accused.

NCS is an excellent school. OP would do well to send his children there.

My 2 sons go to Pope John Paul and we play them in football and basketball, the kids seem nice and they have a beautiful football field

Also there hoops coach is an LSU alum

In all honesty don't think you can go wrong with Northlake, Pope, or Archbishop Hannan although Hannan thinks they are Ole Miss (check out there grove set ups during football games) but all 3 are good schools

I know 6 who have graduated from NCS. 5 graduated from LSU or other universities. I know 2 that are attending now and both will graduate from college no prob.

ncs isn't bad. i know several people that went there. they have a few people with very deep pockets.

just go st.paul/ssa, stay away from bowling green and ben's ford.

depending on where you live, there are some excellent public schools on the northshore.

Without knowing the OP's kid(s), there's no way to know the exact best fit of schools for him/her/them in the Covington area.

If I lived there, I could have done, in no particular order, SP, SSA, MHS, FHS, CE, or NCS.

Hannan, Lakeview (too new, among other reasons) and Covington miss the cut as certainly does Ben's Ford.

My default choices would be St Paul's & SSA, if pressed for an answer.

I have a daughter entering high school in a year. Opinions on Hannan vs SSA?

I went there for K-2nd grade. Don't remember much. I puked in the halls once after they made us pick up garbage along the highway for some service project. I also shite my pants once in Kindergarten on the playground. When we were lined up to go back inside, I still had it in my pants. The kid behind me said "what's the smell?", so I quietly pointed to the kid standing in front of me.

it's an extremely weird place with extremely weird people.

op should steer clear of ben's ford at all costs.

SSA is excellent, very strong academically. The traffic is terrible, but once she gets her license you're out.

All of the SSA girls I know/knew did well and weren't into heavy drugs or anything. Just your typical high school shite. It's a good school academically. If I had a daughter, she'd either go there or MHS

Thanks for the input (everyone). Have a child going into second grade with two more not far behind. We are looking at the private options in the area. We are in East St Tammany right now but are considering West St Tammany area schools.

I just want to make sure they offer at least the level of education as some of the better St Tammany public schools.

My thoughts would be to take a raincheck. No way your child gets a decent education there.

I agree... McKinley would be a much better option

Is there a means to objectively demonstrate this?

I just based my opinion on what I saw with my eyes as to my daughter's curriculum, the number of scholarships awarded to the senior class, and the quality of the teachers.
