Wasn't there a thread last week saying that the US should have these lanes everywhere? What a communist!

LINK

Clearly there was a need for this since the heavy pedestrian and automobile traffic is an issue in Pyongyang.......

Will update with pictures of Kim Jong Un looking at the new lanes when available.

Clearly, Kim Jong reads TD for political advice. This is perhaps also why his country is totally screwed up.

What the hell is that big glass pyramid thing?

Actually looks like a nice place. I guess when you can steal from and oppress the populace and build big government buildings you can have super nice amenities.

It is a hotel. It stood incomplete (just a concrete shell) for years after the Soviet Union collapsed. They resumed construction back in 2008. The exterior is done, but they keep delaying the opening which leads me to believe that the inside isn't actually complete.

Bike lanes get too crowded. I'll stick to the roads.

When it was incomplete, there were a few stories I read where if you asked the locals or guides about the building, they would act like it didn't exist or didn't know what you were talking about. Just another weird factoid about NK.

It ended up being just a cell phone tower for a few years. The funny thing is, even when it was designed the "hotel" had more rooms than it could ever possibly fill because not many people get to visit NK as you know.
