That's fine if you don't find it funny, but don't get all offended by it. You've been here since 2010; you know what this place is.

Public schools are nothing but day cares at this point.
It all depends on where you live. Public school is perfectly fine in many, many places.
Living where I live is borderline in terms of my budget, but having access to the public schools I have access to makes the sacrifice worth it.

I didn't. I just said I like boards where people don't fantasize or joke about killing people.
The absurdity of it could've made it funny, but the idea of solving problems through homicide just isn't so absurd on these boards. Maybe because it's so over-played.
No hard feelings.

the issue with that line of thinking is alot of those parents are excited to send little shemiqua and tyrone to school so they "dont have to deal with them."
You have a point. When there’s free money to be had, though, they can usually find a workaround.

There are plenty of good/safe public schools in Louisiana. Maybe not in inner city New Orleans or Baton Rouge but in more rural areas and suburbs they are absolutely fine

I was going to make a snarky comment that this was probably a lovers spat, but after watching the video, dude needs to go straight to prison. There’s no humor in this situation whatsoever.

So it starts in the home, what's the answer?
I don’t know if there is a single “answer.” But there are places to start. Try things to promote and bring back the nuclear family as much as possible. Maybe try to hold fathers to being financially on the hook for their kids. De-incentivize government assistance for having kids. Hold parents more accountable for the acts of their children, especially when they have failed to raise them properly. Etc.
Any number of things may work. But the way it is currently set up very clearly isn’t working. So start there.
But the problem is the powers that be are just as uninterested in fixing anything as the people benefitting from the broken system every day. There is a lot of power on the hook and the government doesn’t want to lose that power. So the whole system itself seems broken to a large degree.

nuclear family
Okay, that's just stupid. People use that "nuclear family" mantra like it's some kind of panacea. "Nuclear family" is a marketing strategy from the 50s to try to get families to stop taking care of themselves. I wish that term would just dry up and blow away. My parents (born in the 30s) were products of extended families, not just nuclear families. Extended families were able to better take care of themselves and not have to contract out services like pre-school and elderly care. But those services help grow the economy.

It's awfully hard to defund relief for widows and orphans - which is where "Aid to Dependent Children" came from. But I agree that the system is deeply flawed, and dis-incentivizes marriage among the poor.

Some states are more successful at that than others. I believe Texas is quite serious about holding fathers accountable.

Now we're starting to get into government intrusion on how parents should raise their kids. I am extremely wary about this approach. I do prefer your earlier reduction of government approaches.

Real simple - A new law that if a student initiates an attack he or she will serve time in lockup. The teachers already have this consequence so put it on students too. Protect the damn teachers from being attacked. It makes no difference where most of them sleep, the majority of their food and board is funded from taxpayers. Get them out of the schoolhouse

Those of you with kids in these public schools. I’d make sure they are in shape and know how to defend themselves. This kid will do this to anyone if he will do it to a teacher. Guns won’t help you in this situation. You must be able to deliver a savage beating in defending yourself. Its the only way these perpetrators will learn. Thats the language they speak and understand. Give it to them.

Could you please post videos of the white kids beating up teachers or the Asian students beating up teachers, or even native Indians beating up their teachers? Tired of seeing the same ole same ole.

I use it to basically mean keeping the family structure more intact. A lot of this could be lessened if the fathers stuck around and helped raise their children. And IMO that is one of the biggest problems with the whole thing. But take a giant shite on it I guess.

As am I. And I’m not advocating that the government intruding on people raising their kids. But something has to give when kids basically aren’t being raised by their parents at all. And my point in that one was holding parents responsible as we’ve seen examples of recently. Maybe if parents were on the hook a bit for the actions of their shitty kids, they’d be more inclined to try to not raise shitty kids.

I had typed up several paragraphs that would definitely get me fired if an OT sleuth chose to do a little homework and out me, so I'll just say this: retiring in a few years from a "B" rated school, and it can't get here fkn fast enough.

Anyone watch the Netflix series called The Program? That's where this kid deserves to go. At the end of the documentary, I was actually on the The Programs side and found all those whiny arse, loser graduates as the bad guys. Look at all of them, they were much less pieces of shite now than they were before that boarding school forced them to act with better behavior.
Not cool with the sexual assault part of that documentary though. Obviously, that's fricked up
