7 years old with his 10 year old brother. I used to walk to the corner store around that age all the time.

Has to be more to this.

I used to cross a 4 lane urban street to get the comic book shop or convenience store around that age.

I wouldn't do it now on the same street because there's traffic at all hours, driving crazy with practically zero enforcement from the police, and drivers are staring at their fricking phones.

Add in all the delivery drivers and 3rd world lawn crews/contractors rattling thru the neighborhood, it's a different environment now.

Kinda makes you wonder who the old woman is.

I mean, a kid was killed on a roadway, someone has to be charged. If the old woman is someone who the police can't charge, for any number of good ole boy reasons, well I guess the parents are the next ones in line to take the blame.

Yeah, my parents would have been locked up. At 7 I was free to roam the neighborhood from daylight to dark.

Same here, never was supervised. This country has become so pussified.

No they don’t. Accidents happen. And the 7 year old who is deceased made the mistake. Tragic, but still unsure why there are charges, especially the extreme charges.

So, if a child is at school using the bathroom (alone) trips and hits his head on the sink and dies, who is charged? The parents, the school, etc…

This is exponentially ludicrous.

These look like trash people and lol at the 7 year old throwing gang signs but him being unsupervised seems pretty ridiculous. He’s 7, how many of us were constantly monitored at all times at 7.

My working hypothesis is that they're known to police as being involved with various types of vice, but that none were directly implicated in this incident.

This is one of those incidents where they were likely known already to the local PD and this just gave them an excuse to pull the trigger and get them behind bars.

The twisted part is even if a jury acquits them of these extreme charges, they will be marked forever and the same folks will look for any reason to get them behind bars again.

That is God Awful parenting.

Careful Karen, you might hurt yourself getting out of that helicopter while looking after your kid.

The only thing worse than absolutely reckless parents are helicopter Karens telling the world why normal kid activities are always dangerous.
