they probably couldn't find the car even with the tracker.

That's why before seeing the Houston reporting with the additional information, that was the most shocking part of the story to me - thinking NOPD actually located the vehicle.

Another article

According to that article, the husband said he last heard from her Thursday night--she said she was going to get some fast food. Then they tracked her car to New Orleans on Saturday. Also says he has a 13 and 11 year old at home, so it seems unlikely that he could have done it and drove the car to N.O. without the kids knowing.

I would have been tracking the vehicle about an hour after my wife didn’t show up back home from a fast food run.

Maybe she was still waiting for her 8 piece spicy? Most Popeye's are SLOW but I bet the ones in New Orleans really don't give AF.

Yeah. I assume the cops already have the husbands phone records to see whether he was calling/ texting her. If not, that would be pretty suspicious.

Def the husband did it

It’s possible.

But it was just a few weeks ago when the female jogger in Memphis was kidnapped/murdered, the resident Sherlock’s here deduced it was the husband.

Strange, right? If he's tracking her car, the second it leaves the Houston area, he should be wtf'ing. I guess those details will come out, for his sake I hope he was actively trying to reach her.

Not saying people don't have 3rd party trackers on the car, but the wife probably would know that and figured would disable that too.

If it is a Lexus tracker that means NOPD found it first or someone gave him the info.

My only experience with built in trackers is that a police report needs to be filed and someone from NOPD has to talk to the company before they tell NOPD only where the car is.

If the car had lo-jack on it, I don't think you need to go through police to find the car. You just need their app. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Do some of you MFers just read the OP, then post three pages later asking questions that have already been answered within like ten posts? I swear some of you are idiots.

The Houston article seems to suggest there was no police involvement in the initial tracking and that it was something the husband was able to do on his own.
