If you are worried about NOPD “spying” on you in the FQ, you probably deserve to be in jail.

I just remember because there was a great bit of enthusiasm for the tactic until Malik neighbor’s arrest got people rolled oven their ethical believes in circles.

I can’t believe anyone would question whether living in an AI panopticon is bad thing.
I think this is a bit of an oversimplification, though.
No, it’s not a good thing. But consider how we got here. We already live in a panopticon. Everybody with a Ring or other home security camera is contributing to it. Why do people have all of those cameras? Because they’re tired of having their shite stolen, vandalized, or whatever else.
Project NOLA is just an evolution of that. There’s a reason people pay to be part of the program. If someone broke into your home or business and your camera system was capable of facial recognition, wouldn’t you want to use it?
And then the question becomes where you draw the line. What amount of information willingly given to law enforcement by private citizens should be considered off-limits? I don’t really know the answer. I think it’s complicated.

Don't be committing crimes in Ruston
I may have, and they may have caught me in the traditional bible belt manner prior to fusion centers (I'm sure there are no such contraptions in Grambling)

you only tell half the story, because it was human error that led to the arrest.
That arrest wasn't even possible to even execute without the the AI, dipshit.
Just go ahead and post a picture of your badge, orificer, so we know who we're dealing with for sure.

Lawless places like New Orleans are not the battlefront for libertarian values, sorry

That’s an amazingly ironic statement

I guess if you don’t know the definitions of lawless or libertarian you’re right.

NOLA such a shite hole they should probably have security check points just entering and leaving the city
They should handle it like London where there is London and the City of London which are separate entities that are managed by different groups.
Make the FQ, CBD and maybe St Charles a separate legal entity with independent government and policing and hand the rest over to the existing government to manage with their current levels of excellence.

Having to alert the city council every time it’s used seems absurd.

Do they get any sleep at night, lol? I can imagine it alerts all night long.
I don’t have a ring or any other camera. I’m safe with my dogs, nobody is getting inside. . I understand why folks have them, though. But bored people home all day continually post up ring pics of walkers or animals “look what just walked past my house!” “”She/he doesn’t belong here!” Recently, a package was delivered to me, it wasn’t mine. So I took it the few blocks over to be nice. I was waiting to pop up on fb community page of “someone is sketchy and snooping,” but thankfully didn’t.
