You will get downvoted to hell but you are basically right. The shiny, post-K veneer is wearing off Lakeview. 10 years ago uptown, old Metairie, and Lakeview prices were the same at ~$200-$225/ft. Lakeview prices have been stagnant while Uptown and Old Metairie have blown past $300/ft.

This is unofficial, but police sources say an officer fired at a suspect when the suspect tried to run from an officer .

It's neighborhood near Lake P and City Park

Lake Vista, Lake Terrace and Lakeshore are nice, well planned neighborhoods near the lake - nicer streets, houses, and lots with parks.

Mid City near Bayou St. John is a better option for a neighborhood close to City Park and they come with New Orleans charm (architecture, layout, walk-able restaurants and bars, etc.). I doubt many Lakeview folks are hiking across the canal to take strolls in City Park.

Lakeview - only $300/Sq Ft +++ to enjoy a beautiful day with gunshots all around.
Pay me those absurd property taxes and rip-off S&WB fees NOW

Is this sarcasm? People are always jogging, biking, walking over the Harrison and Filmore bridges into City Park.

You say this like Harrison from Canal St. to the Canal doesn't exist. Your comment about people not wanting to cross the bridge to go to City Park shows you are just throwing stuff against the wall to see what sticks.

Ok. Maybe I'm wrong. I only pass through there from time to time.

Yes, you are wrong. Get you a nice lawn chair and beer and spend an afternoon watching the lady joggers go over the Harrison bridge into the park.

For only passing through from time to time why are you throwing out all of these generalized negative comments.

It’s like San Francisco, Chicago or any other once great city in decline. Those who mythologize what makes it unique and special, refuse to see that it is not what it used to be and they get furious at you if you point it out. They are way more pissed off at you for pointing out the crime and runaway social pathology then they are about the crime and runaway social pathology.

I love the fact that bouldering is so popular on the streets in Lakeview. I've even seen some resident climb those streets without harnesses

I thought I was being specific. Do you want more specifics? If you feel I am being negative, why don't you explain the positives of Lakeview aside from what I've already described?

New Orleans police fired shots at a driver who was speeding toward them at a "high rate of speed," according to a source. No injuries have been reported.

One person is in custody. NOPD is searching for at least one additional suspect.
