I live in a major city, but every time I try a thrift store it looks like a hoarder's garage. Just a big pile of shite that smells funny.
You have to find the right one, as some are more organized than others. I hate going through just racks and racks of random clothes, but if all of one item is grouped together or sized, it's not so bad. Some smell funky also. If you can find one near a wealthy area, that helps too.
Over the years I've bought tons of kids' clothes at consignment, used clothing, or Goodwill-type stores. I find less stuff for me, but I've found several nice purses for cheap there. Some women apparently love to get rid of barely used expensive purses so they can shop for new ones.

Sure why not.
Idc where something came from, if it's nice it's nice.

I used to like to find unique t shirts at thrift stores when I was in high school. I haven't been in a while.

Every Halloween I get my costume @ the goodwill. I never know what I'm going to be until I get in the shop. For instance, I found a Virgin Mary shirt and decided to be a Mexican drug lord.

A former gf bought almost all her clothes there. She always looked nice and smelled good.

It's been a while. But my best finds eye a Burberry trench coat worth about $1800 new for $45.
I also found this at a thrift shop in Boulder. I could probably sell it for a couple hundred I'm Alabama. Bama hasn't lost a game when I've worn it.

Depends on what is going on. And where I am.
If I forgot something while on a trip, I'll go to Goodwill.
If I am looking for something that I need for one or two times, I'll go to Goodwill.
If I want to go to a store to buy clothes but don't want to deal with all the sales people and changing room to try it on and fit it to me...I'll go to Goodwill.

Not an OT baller yet, but yes I've done that. The ones in BR aren't great but occasionally you can find a gem. The stores on Burbank tend to get better stuff
I went to Los Angeles a few years ago and I heard that the goodwill stores in Beverely Hills are incredible. It was completely true. I have 5 Ralph Lauren polo shirts and button down oxfords from there, plus some nice designer jeans. All mostly untouched, a couple actually had tags on them still

I make Junior OT Baller money, but I'm cheap as frick, and prefer to spend my money on other shite than clothes (and cars). I either buy clothes from Goodwill or mega-clearance online sales.
I've found all manner of stuff from Goodwill, including tons of Brooks Brothers stuff and a bunch of LSU football training apparel. I got a SWEET Woolrich hunting jacket a while back that definitely falls in the "they just don't make things like they used to" category.
There was a thrift store next to my hotel when I was in Manhattan in January. I bought a pair of $275 shoes for $30 that still had the stickers on the insoles, and not a spec of wear on the soles.

I think it's easier for women to find good shite. They tend to get rid of clothes more regularly. I never see anything worth trying on, but my gf comes home with LuluLemon and Chanel handbags.
She always finds good shite.
