I am looking to post a help wanted ad for the Nola area. I usually use CareerBuilder or Monster, but want to try and not spend $400 this time.

Nola.com and NewOrleansAdvocate.com are both around $270. Which would be a better place to place an ad? It seems that theAdvocate is larger, but do more locals read Nola.com?

Also seems that if one really wants a job, they will look at both anyways.

What kind of job? In this market I am finding that the transferable skills like accounting are tougher to find.

Have you considered something like ziprecruiter instead of a job posting? I promise with whatever posting you choose you'll get 150 completely useless applicants and 2-3 good fits. It may be easier to reach out to those looking instead

Indeed is the best tool for job searching, and most people use it now. All of the other websites just send a constant barrage of garbage emails

I only used indeed last tim I was hunting. Much better than monster or any other site I've used. I think it even pulls ads from the other, spam infested job sites.
