With three people shot overnight across New Orleans, the city has reached a grim milestone: 500 people hurt by gunfire this year. It is the earliest the city has reached that mark since that date has been recorded, which dates back to 2010, according to crime analyst Jeff Asher.

quote:

The next earliest year to reach 500 shooting victims was 2011, when that mark was reached on Nov. 1. It was not reached at all in 2013 or 2015, according to Asher. Despite setting the new mark, gun violence has seen a sharp decline in recent months after it spiked to begin the year, Asher said.

Just because "murder is down" doesn't mean it's any better. Still a failed administration.

So, are the thugs just getting less accurate? The other thread says that murders are down.

I'd say the real take-away is that our doctors are getting damn good at treating bullet holes. And that's progress.

New fad is to hold the gun upside down. Sideways just wasn't cutting it anymore.

Or marksmanship skills have really gone down. Sad. Practice makes perfect though.

True, it just means that the local hospitals/doctors are great at saving lives.
