What does "p/p" represent in the 1st diagram? Are the next two length measurement waterline and overall?

Beam, freeboard and draft in the 2nd diagram?

Expect Owlvis to be very tired but very “hydrated” after his weekend pilgrimage to NOLA.

Not really... we didn't read books or snuggle. It was all drinking and fricking.

I went on the main deck of the Iowa. I don't remember if we were able to go inside. I don't think so.

A college buddy and I were in N.O. for Mardi Gras, so I'm sure we were liquored up. We were checking out the 16" gun batteries and a sailor was answering questions. Obviously, the guy must have been asked about range and projectile weight about a thousand times (22 miles and 2,700 lbs, IIRC). My buddy said, "So you can basically launch a Volkswagen from here to Kenner." The sailor responded by saying "More like from here to LaPlace, but yeah."

It didn't occur to us at the time to ask how he knew where the frick LaPlace was. If he was local, he didn't mention it.

History lesson: The Navy Department closed down the Basin Street red light district during WWI as a public health hazard detrimental to the war effort.
