one of my favorite thongs about living in shreveport is seeing B-52s flying overhead all the time. My favorite plane by far

There is a very good reason this came so quickly into your head, because it is wasting money. Who does training exercises to learn how to do fly overs?
Never let your stupid show like this again.
Military pilots are required to fly their aircraft a certain number of hours per month.
Why not do this? Its not costing anymore than it would any other month, they are just announcing it and flying over cities

So since most commercial jets have been grounded the Air Force has to start spraying the chem trails?

Someone should tell the reporter the b52s come from barksdale not New Orleans

This is a show of force by JBE to let us know the lengths he will go to in order to extend the stay at home until November

Any updates on when this is happening? Been waiting for it. Unless I didn’t/couldn’t see it.

You’re not wrong, but they’re still hitting a TOT. Can’t speak to other communities, but in my part of the Air Force that’s valuable training that takes a good bit of planning. Especially when hitting multiple TOTs.
Concur about TOT times. My response was more in line with fighters in a tight diamond or line abreast formation coming over stadiums etc. They absolutely always attempt to maintain TOT practice (I'm sure more than ever with minimal flying hours these days) but my comment was more towards the assumption that fighters in tight formations equal bombing runs, etc.
I should have been more clear in my statement...my bad.

So does anyone know if there is a good place to watch between NOLA and BR? Will they be flying low enough to see well and what would their likely flight path be?

I was out on the lake here at Toledo Bend a little while ago with my son and had a couple of what I think were F-15's fly right over the boat about 30 minutes after seeing a bald eagle fly by.
It was about as America a fishing trip as I have ever had, which was good, because it was so windy we didn't catch much.

I really shouldn't have to educate you but here we go:
It is a valid training exercise which may or may not include a practice bombing run. Tiger Stadium or the Superdome my be The target. The flight path for this run is over BR & NOLA; that all this is. And it's already been paid for by our taxes.
And when the LA National Guard dumps Christmas trees from helicopters to help with coastal erosion?
That's a training exercise too.
You either keep your skills sharp or lose them. Which do you want when they are called upon to defend us?
Grow up & learn something fool.
So tired of having to educate young morons.
TigerNOLAGirl, How you doin?

Well it’s a good thing we have these fly overs or they might not get their time in.
Whew... one less thing to worry about.
Hey, we could do more fly overs next month to salute the people who lost their jobs as a result of all this and get some more flying time in.
